Northland employees gathered together at His Compassion, a food bank in Ocala, FL, where they worked to load boxes of food for distribution.

Melbourne Team Gives Back

Northland Gives Back with Animal Adventures

As part of Northland Gives Back, team members from our New England communities spent a day volunteering at Animal Adventures Family Zoo & Rescue Center, a family zoo and animal rescue center in Bolton, MA. Together they took part in an outdoor cleanup, helped with landscaping projects, and delivered pet food and cleaning supplies that were generously donated by local Northland residents.

Northland Gives Back at Community Cooperative in FL

Northland Regional Manager Shawn Wingate and community managers from The Ashlar, Bay Harbor, Promenade at Reflection Lakes and Monterra at Bonita Springs recently volunteered their time at Community Cooperative, a soup kitchen in Fort Myers, FL.

Our employees packaged delivery meals for their homebound clients and helped disinfect the soft pack coolers in which they are delivered. They also assisted the staff in cleaning the facility, ensuring the food is prepared and packaged in a safe and healthy setting. Thank you to Shawn, Jennifer Deates, Belinda Reaves, Sandra Friedrich and Debbie Elliot for your hard work and dedication in making the communities in which you live and work a better place.

Community Cooperative is a non-profit organization striving to alleviate hunger and homelessness in Lee County, where 1 in 6 residents are in need of food assistance. In 2019, Community Cooperative assisted over 30,000 of these residents, provided 1.3 million pounds in food, and delivered 83, 533 meals. Northland Gives Back at the GBFB Brown Bag Program

This December, several Northland employees volunteered their time at The Greater Boston Food Bank to help fill 6,958 grocery bags of food for the non-profit’s Brown Bag Program. This program helps supply seniors with nutritious grocery items such as milk, cheese, ground turkey, yogurt, spinach, carrots, dried fruit, spaghetti, peanut butter and cereal. These bags, weighing roughly 15 pounds each, will be distributed to seniors living in Lynn, MA.

1 in 5 senior citizens living in Eastern Massachusetts struggles with food insecurity. The Greater Boston Food Bank’s Brown Bag Program provides free groceries to over 8,500 seniors in need each month, ensuring they receive the nutritious food needed to stay healthy. Corpus Christi Team Gives Back at Padre Island

Team members from two Northland communities in Corpus Christi spent the day volunteering at Padre Island National Seashore, where they walked miles of beach picking up any and all debris they found. As a team, Northland employees collected 32 bags of trash leaving behind a clean stretch of beach.

Padre Island National Seashore is the longest stretch of undeveloped barrier island in the world. The park protects 70 miles of coastline, dunes, prairies, and wind tidal flats.

Northland Gives Back at Cradles to Crayons

Team members from the Northland corporate office spent a morning volunteering at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory. Cradles to Crayons provides children up to age 12 who are living in low-income and homeless situations with the essential items they need.

Northland employees worked in the Cradles to Crayons Boston area warehouse to sort clothing donations, put together packages for children, and write encouraging notes.

Cradles to Crayons collects new and nearly new children’s items through community drives and corporate donations. Last year they served more than 942,000 children across Massachusetts. For more information on how to donate to Cradles to Crayons, visit www.cradlestocrayons.org
