In Florida, volunteers from Ballantrae, The Brittany, Estates at Heathbrook, Grandeville on Saxon, Lakes at Suntree, Paramount on Lake Eola, Rialto, and Saddleworth Green organized a beach cleanup at Paradise Beach in Melbourne, helping to protect the shoreline and surrounding marine environment.

Further north, members of our Finance and Asset Management teams spent the day revitalizing the Newton Little League fields—cleaning, painting, and preparing the grounds for the 2025 season.

Their efforts were part of the March to a Million Meals initiative, a February fundraising drive focused on feeding the growing number of families facing food insecurity in Southwest Florida. Community Cooperative is a non-profit organization striving to alleviate hunger and homelessness in Lee County, where 1 in 6 residents are in need of food assistance. • Cradles to Crayons Boston, an organization focused on providing children living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive at home, at school and at play.

• Rosie’s Place, the first women’s shelter in the U.S., which remains focused on providing a safe and nurturing environment to help poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity, and find security in their lives.

In addition, Northland matched all of its employees’ contributions to these organizations, raising nearly $10,000 in additional funding for these amazing groups. We are so proud of our team and their generosity, and look forward to supporting these and other amazing groups in 2021.

One of our teams helped organize and sort clothing donations by clothing and size and the other decorated packaged gift boxes of children’s clothing, school supplies and hygiene items. The gift boxes will be distributed at Cradles 2 Crayons’ annual virtual fundraiser, the Un-Gala, which will support their Gear Up for Winter initiative aimed at providing warm winter gear to children across Massachusetts.
